The water treatment works was, now sadly gone, a very iconic and functional building
Built in 1927 it was the home of some very high tech equipment, leading the way in the science of water treatment.
Clean water and effective sanitation now form the fabric of modern day life. Clean water has extended life expectancy by up to twenty years. We now have an organised water supply system that is reliable and safe that delivers to us heath and wellbeing on tap.
