Waterworks Walks – Lichfield Heritage days

Some information about today’s walk to Sandfields Pumping Station at 12:30.

We will me meet at St Marys Church and you are very welcome to bring along your dog if you wish.

The walk is approximately just over one and a quarter miles to Sandfields Pumping Station and of course, some may wish to walk back. It is just over a mile back to St Marys. We will take a few stops on the way to point out some of the features of the waterworks.

Please note, we cannot go inside Sandfields Pumping Station, despite our best efforts, the owners Persimmon Homes PLC will not allow it.

The Lichfield Waterworks Trust are a registered charity who are working hard to obtain access to this wonderful piece of Lichfield’s Industrial Heritage. The building was built to serve the community, we believe that it should continue to do so.

Most importantly, have a great day.
